Jazz duo Emma Gilmartin (voice) and Jeremy Woolhouse
(piano) create an intimate, relaxed and inviting atmosphere
drawing on a number of musical influences including:
Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Antoinio
Carlos Jobim and Louis Armstrong. Emma’s voice
has been described as “crystal clear in tone
and clarity, and with a quality that captures the stillness
of the moment “. Together with Jeremy’s
innovative and captivating piano accompaniment the
duo create intriguing interpretations of the classic
jazz masterpieces.
"Now and then, one hears a voice which instantly
suggests uncommon beauty and musicality. Add to this
a sensitivity to lyrics, impeccable sense of pitch,
a rare control of vibrato, and you have wonderful artistry.
This is what I hear in the singing of Emma Gilmartin.
It all comes from her approach to both her art and
her fellow human beings." - Tony Gould |
